  1. The calcination of phosphates is consumer of fossil energies and generates significant emissions of greenhouse gases. It is associated with significant heat loss during the cooling cycle. In addition, the temperature and the residence time of calcination have an effect on the mechanisms of thermal decarbonation and on the quality of the finished product. In this study, we have endeavored to minimize the energy consumption and the heat losses by developing a new protocol of hot mixture. The objective of this protocol is to improve industrial efficiency by decreasing the cost of energy production while reducing the emissions. The experimental procedure of hot mixture is conducted by adding a quantity of raw phosphate on a calcined phosphate at 800 °C for 30 minutes under atmospheric air at the temperature of 800 °C. The experimental results affirm that adding an amount of 33% of the gross phosphate of the mass of the calcined one can have a significant impact on the economizing energy by decreasing the organic matter and the carbonates existing in phosphate. They enable us to preserve the environment and meet the quality indices requested by the users of phosphates. This approach should lead in principle to a reduction in energy bill up to 33% and an increase of productivity and of the chemical reactivity during the attack by sulfuric acid.
